A: Age Requirements
Standard Cars: all drivers must be at least 21. For renters between the ages of 21 and 24, a daily underage fee will apply.
Some luxury vehicles and large SUVs: all drivers must be at least 25
Please call the Center from which you wish to rent for details on age restrictions for specific vehicles.
Standard cars (Full Size cars and smaller): you may cancel the same day with no penalty.
Standard, SUVS and VANS: 24-hour cancellation is required by email or phone to avoid penalty fees.
LUXURY and SPECIALTY reservations: 48-hour advance cancellation is required.
Debit Card Policy
Debit Cards are not accepted for local renters (zip codes 90000-93599), based on Driver License or Debit Card billing address.
Driver License and Debit Card name must match.
All Debit Card users will need to show return flight itinerary coinciding with rental term matching name on Driver License, Debit Card and 3rd form of ID.
3rd form of ID: Passport, Military ID, 2nd Debit or Credit Card, Costco/Sam’s Club, Work Photo ID Badge.
No additional Drivers on Debit Card rentals.
Minimum $300 deposit above expected rental charge; deposits will increase in relation to vehicle being rented.
Be advised that when using a debit card authorizations or refunds may take up to 14 days to be posted to your account.
Be My Car USA is not responsible for overdraft charges.
If you will be delayed for any reason, please call the office. Certain cars are subject to cancellation fees if not canceled 48 hours in advance.
Pay now pre-paid reservations are discounted reservations that are paid in advance and are non-refundable. The credit card that is used to pre-pay the reservation must be presented at the counter and the card name must match the driver`s license. Advance payment in full is required, and your card will be charged immediately. Pay now pre-paid reservations are non-refundable and cannot be modified or canceled. If you cancel, or do not show, you will not be refunded. Be My Car USA is not responsible for overdrafts to your account. We do not accept pre-paid credit cards or pre-paid debit cards. Once the car is rented, you will not receive a credit or refund for unused rental days. If your rental is extended, the additional days are subject to higher rates. When you get to the counter, we will take an additional deposit starting at a minimum of $300.00 on your card. To find out the exact amount of the deposit that will be taken at the counter, please call our reservation center directly.
Extending Your Rental
To extend your rental beyond the due date shown on your contract, please call your local rental office. Please note that the rate is subject to change.
Be My Car USA can provide vehicles with hand controls with 24- 48 hours advance notice.
No Show Policy
Reservations are valid and honored for up to three hours after the requested pick up time or until the location’s regular closing time, whichever is earlier. If the vehicle is not picked up within three hours of the requested pick up time your reservation status will be changed to a NO SHOW. To avoid any problems, please contact Be My Car USA if you need to change your vehicle pick-up time.

Be My Car USA vehicles are not permitted to enter Mexico under any circumstances.

What you need to make a payment first
- Damage to the interior and exterior of the vehicle (average repair cost)
- Condition of the vehicle which can not be solved by ordinary car wash ($ 250 service charge and detailed new car)
- Smoking in the car ($ 350)
- If you travel more than mileage ($ 0.25 per mile)
Any additional charges in the next one or two months
- Parking violation and traffic fines
- Fines paid on toll roads and bridges
- Responsibility for other types of claims
What are the requirements to rent a car from us?
A: Renting with Be My Car USA is easy! You must present a valid driver’s license and credit card, in your name, when you pick up your vehicle.
You will also need to present a secondary ID with your signature.
Any second means of I.D. with a signature is acceptable, such as a department store card, library card, etc.
It should not be the same as your credit identification.
For example, if you are using American Express to pay for the rental, that card cannot be used as your secondary ID.
All vehicle rentals will require a credit card deposit at the time the rental contract is opened. Please contact us directly for details on the credit card deposit on your rental.
What are your requirements for renting a car?
A: For standard vehicles, the minimum age to rent from Be My Car USA is 21. Standard vehicles are non-luxury cars ranging from our full-size cars and down.
For luxury vehicles, 7-passengers SUV’s, 15-passenger vans, cube/box trucks and/or specialty vehicles, renters must be 25 or older. Check with the specific rental location or the nearest Be My Car USA office for details.
Additional charges apply to all renters under 25 and vary by location.
What are your driver's license requirements?
A: We welcome worldwide travelers! Be My Car USA happily accepts driver’s licenses issued by:
Any US state, territory, or possession
Any Canadian province
Any country that…
…participated in the 1949 Geneva Convention on Road Traffic, or…
participated in the 1943 Convention on the Regulation of Inter-American Automobile Traffic, or…
has a reciprocal agreement within the United States.
Please note that the driver’s license must be:
Presented at the time of pick-up
An original (no copies)
In the name of the person who is picking up the car.
The renter’s driver’s license must be valid for the entire rental period.
Be My Car USA cannot accept a faxed license.
Is an International Driver's License Accepted?
A: Yes – but an International Driving Permit (IDP) on its own is not sufficient.
Your home country’s valid driver’s license is always necessary for rental with Be My Car USA. An International Driving Permit (IDP) is a translation of your home country’s (other than English language) driver’s license. At the time of rental you must present your home country’s valid driver’s license and, if you have one, an IDP to assist us in translating it. The IDP, by itself, is insufficient for rental with Be My Car USA.

What type of charge card can I use to rent a car?
A: Charge away! Be My Car USA accepts all the major charge cards listed below provided the card is in the renter’s name. Debit, Check or Cash cards are not accepted as credit identification at the time rental, but can be used at the conclusion of the rental for payment. Pre-paid cards are not accepted.

What is a Pay now reservation?
A: A Pay now reservation, is a discounted reservation that is paid in advance and is non-refundable. Advance payment in full is required and your credit card is charged immediately. Please contact the office directly with any additional questions.
15 Passenger van rentals
A: Safety first! California statutes limit 15-passenger vans to personal use only unless the renter and operator of the vehicle holds a valid Class B Driver’s License, or the equivalent commercial operator’s license from the state or country in which they reside.
All 15-passenger van renters will receive a copy of the United States Department of Transportation National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s consumer advisory for 15-passenger vans, “Reducing the Risk of Rollover Crashes.” The renter will be asked to sign acknowledging receipt of that advisory.
Be My Car USA also maintains a fleet of 7 and 8-passenger minivans and SUVs that do not require any special driver’s license.

I am a your Renter and have involved in an accident. What should I do?
A: We’re sorry for your troubles! To submit information regarding your accident and related details, please visit our claims page, download and complete the appropriate car rental claims form, and fax to our claims department.
I am not a renter. I was involved in accident with our rental vehicle. What should I do?
A: We’re sorry to hear it! To submit information regarding your accident and related details, please visit our car rental claims form page, download and complete the “Claimant Accident Statement,” and fax to our claims department.
What about Toll roads / Express Lane / Toll Bridges?
A: Unfortunately, you will not get a notice . When/if by accident you went through the toll road/express lane/toll bridges, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your name, rental agreement, time, date and the toll road you drove on. We’ll assist you the best we can, however, try to keep your eyes open for on the road notices. Some allow you to pay online within each agency timeline.

Unfortunately whenever our corporate office gets the citation/violation notice – your credit card will get charged for the citation/violation plus an additional $50 admin/processing fee.
My credit card was charged for parking citation why didn't someone from By My Car USA inform me?
A: Our corporate office receives 1000’s pieces of mail, they have to get sorted, opened, reviewed, and researched to identify if it is a citation or others. Our terms and condition states “without prior notification” since it is nearly impossible to reach out to each renter per citation mailed.
In the Greater Los Angeles Area, the city will likely impound the vehicles due to un-paid multiple parking citation thus we do our very best to clear it all up so that current/future renters will not suffer or get inconvenience due to an oversite from our previous customers.
the parking citation wasn't my fault, I need to fight the agency. Can you refund my credit card until I win my case?
A: Inform the staff at the rental counter and/or email email@example.com of the situation prior to starting your administrative review. Most administrative review must be received by the agency within 21 calendar days of receiving the citation and most cases the fine has to be paid to the agency before moving forward to the administrative hearing. When you win your case, send us a copy of the letters , we will contact the agency to issue us a check and when we receive the check we will refund you.
